Turmeric Chai Latte

Turmeric Latte

I love chia more than any other hot beverage, and this is my favourite recipe and one I make almost on a daily basis. It's delicious and calming and the turmeric and ginger give it some extra kick, as I like my chai to be super spicy.

what you need

2 tsp of loose leaf chai mix (recipe here)

1/2 cup water

1 cup of milk (almond, cashew, oat, soy)

1 tablespoon maple syrup

Knob of fresh ginger

Knob of fresh turmeric

Freshly grated nutmeg or ground cinnamon


what to do

Add the loose leaf chai mix and the water to a small saucepan. Place on the stove on medium-high heat and allow to come to the boil. Lower heat and simmer for a few minutes to give the tea a chance to infuse in the water.

Add the milk, maple syrup, ginger and turmeric and heat to just before boiling point. Pour the chai into a mug through a stainer, sprinkle some cinnamon or grate nutmeg on top and enjoy!
