Campfires, Campouts and Farewells
We had a fun campout style dinner to spend time with family before heading off to Far North Queensland for a few months of adventure in the tropics. A brilliant time was had by everyone and the fires and food kept us all toasty and warm into the night.
Roast potatoes and a delicious bean stew cooking on the open fire.
The bonfire at its biggest. A surefire way to keep toasty on a cold winter evening.
Anja keeping warm by the fire and our cute little teepee decorated with native winter blooms.
I'm not exactly sure what we were trying to build here, but the creating of it was fun.
Bunting galore. It's one of my favourite ways to decorate and add a touch of cuteness to any event.
Me by the teepee enjoying the warmth and the Sima.
Beautiful Heidi keeping warm by the fire.
Enjoying each other's company by the fire.
The archway we built that served as a doorway to the tea tree grove.
Anja and I being total nerds under the arch.
Just because I love pinecones and this one was a perfect little specimen.
Hiding in the tea tree grove. But not very well obviously.
When it's cold and wet gumboots and cosy socks are a must.
Toasting marshmellows for dessert.
Mika (my bro) and Ash (his lovely girlfriend).
I can't believe so many of us fit in the teepee at once.
More bunting.
Sima (Finnish lemonade) in a large glass urn with yep, you guessed it, more bunting.
Enjoying sima by the fire. I think my hands were pretty cold by this time.
Sitting in our cute little teepee decorated in winter blooms.
Fire twirling captured in slow motion.
Fun into the night.
Anja fire twirling and providing us with some great entertainment.
Because it's always fun to end the night with sparklers.
